Every line comes back with the register it was read from and the day it was read. There is no score and no ranking — two counts and the facts behind them.

The enterprise number is on every Belgian invoice and quote, printed as ten digits. A name works too, and you pick the right company from the matches.

Naming the work adds one check: whether the company’s registered activities cover it.

About this tool

What does this check actually tell me?
What the Belgian public registers said about one company on the dates shown: whether its VAT number is registered and active, whether an insolvency procedure is recorded against it, and — if you named the work — whether its registered activities cover that work. Nothing else.
Where does the data come from?
The Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (KBO/BCE) open data for the register entry and the insolvency situation, and the European Commission’s VIES service for VAT status. Each line on the result names its own source and the day it was read.
Why is there no score?
Because a score would be our opinion about somebody’s livelihood, and this tool has no opinions. You get two counts — how many checks passed and how many raised a flag — and the dated facts behind them. A company with no flags is a company with no flags, not a company we vouch for.
How current is it?
Every line carries the date it was read. If what we hold about a company has gone stale, the lookup re-reads the VAT register once, for that company only. When the register is slow or unavailable we show what we last read, with its real date, rather than guessing.
A certificate I expected is not listed. Is that bad?
No. Most Belgian trades are required to hold no certification at all, so an absence tells you nothing and is never counted as a flag. The result lists what is present; it does not list what is missing.
This is my company and something is wrong.
